Esthema, World Fusion Ensemble New CD Release
WORLD FUSION ENSEMBLE, ESTHEMA RELEASES NEW CD ON NOVEMBER 3, 2009 TITLED THE HERENESS AND NOWNESS OF THINGS
On November 3, 2009 Boston’s own, World Fusion Ensemble, ESTHEMA releases their sophomore effort, the Hereness and Nowness of Things.
Their first CD, Apart From the Rest, released July 2007 was voted one of the Top 25 independently released CDs in 2008 at Indie-Music.com and in 2009, compositions from the CD were chosen and featured at Providence, Rhode Island’s critically acclaimed Waterfire Providence. Since its release, it has been reviewed in over a dozen on-line and print publications, including Boston’s The Noise, Skope Magazine, and Progression Magazine.
“This recording is nothing less than a true celebration of a number of different styles of world beat, jazz, rock, ethnic European and Middle Eastern traditional music.”
— Joel Simches, The Noise – Boston
“Esthema has added something else to the normally staid jazz-rock sound – a heavy Eastern European influence – that makes the six instrumentals on Apart From The Rest a unique listening experience.”
— Todd Sikorski, Skope Magazine
“…the seamless blend of Eastern and Western motifs.”
— John Collinge, Progression Magazine

Since the summer of 2007, Esthema has been performing throughout venues, coffee houses, art galleries, and outdoor stages throughout New England (Worcester, MA, Burlington, VT, Providence, RI) and New York City, the greatest concentration being Boston and the surrounding cities. They have headlined shows at both Johnny D’s in Somerville and Ryles in Cambridge; they have been a part of the stART on the Street Festival in Worcester, the 8th Annual Boston Turkish Festival and the Boston Music Festival in Boston; and they have performed at some of Boston’s major college campus venues, Emerson, MIT, and Berklee College of Music.
To usher in this new chapter, two CD release parties have been scheduled, the first on November 7 at Rhode Island’s Blackstone River Theatre and the second on November 25, in the heart of Inman Square at Cambridge’s (MA) Ryles Jazz Club.
