Victor L. Goines, a leading reed player in the jazz world, an acclaimed solo artist, a gifted composer, and a renowned educator, is an integral member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and the Wynton Marsalis Septet since 1993. With these legendary ensembles, he has toured worldwide and has performed on more than 20 releases. Goines leads his own quartet and quintet with whom he has made 7 recordings, and has collaborated with many noted jazz and popular artists. He was named director of jazz studies and professor of music at Northwestern University in late 2007. Prior to that he was artistic director of the jazz program at the Juilliard School for 7 years and a faculty member in jazz clarinet and saxophone.
