Barry Harris and Cedar Walton - pianists, composers, educators, National Endowment For The Arts Jazz Masters - are featured in the June 2013 issue of Jazz Inside Magazine (print and digital). The two pianists will be performing for the first time together in a two piano setting. This Jazz Piano Summit is presented by Mark Morganelli’s Jazz Forum Arts at Jazz At Lincoln Center on June 22, and is in memory of pianist Mulgrew Miller who died on May 29, 2013. The two pianists will be playing jazz standards as well as their own compositions. They will be accompanied by bassist Buster Williams and drummer Willie Jones III.
This expanded 80-page issue of Jazz Inside Magazine also features comprehensive interviews with saxophonist Gato Barbieri (by Ken Weiss), plus an array of artists performing in New York in June including, pianists Bob James, Ramsey Lewis, vibraphonist Joe Locke, bassist Buster Williams, drummer Jaimeo Brown. Readers will also read about vocalist Diane Marino. The first of a two-part interview with trumpeter Greg Bobulinski, who is an educator at Five Towns College, reveals the depth and diversity of his knowledge, experience and creativity - including his years with Clark Terry's Big Bad Band.
